Parliamentary State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade László Szabó told MTI on Monday that other European countries also have an interest in the Eastward and Southward Opening, and that Hungary is on the right track; he was speaking in the Polish city of Katowice, where he was representing Hungary at the 7th European Economic Congress.
Mr. Szabó attended the morning plenary session on the first day, which was entitled “EUR 300 Billion for the New Europe – Large-scale Investment Programmes in the European Union”, and which focused on the EU investment plan: the so-called “Juncker package”, which was adopted last December. In the afternoon he spoke at a panel discussion entitled “Challenges to the Global Economy – New Markets and New Trends”.
